Our Story

Cuckoo Chalet is a small online shop that sells cuckoo clocks made in Germany, and the parts to keep them running. We opened in October 2026.

Why we started

When we studied how Americans buy cuckoo clocks online, we kept running into the same problems. The specialist shops with the best choice often shipped from Germany. Many cheaper listings said "Black Forest" on a clock made somewhere else. And it was surprisingly hard to find a straight answer to simple questions: does it run on batteries or weights? Do you wind it every day or every week? Can you turn it off at night?

So we built the shop we wanted to buy from: a short, chosen range of clocks from German makers, shipped from within the United States, with every listing saying plainly how the clock works.

What we sell

Clocks by Trenkle (Simonswald), Hönes (Titisee-Neustadt), Sternreiter and Rombach & Haas (Schonach): quartz models for people who do not want to wind anything, 1-day and 8-day mechanical clocks with real bellows and wooden whistles, carved classics, musical chalets, and one modern cube. Alongside them, the replacement parts owners need most: chains, weights, a pendulum, bellows and clock oil.

How we work

• Honest labels. Each listing names the maker and tells you the movement (quartz, 1-day or 8-day), the music, the night shut-off and the dimensions. "VdS certified" appears only where the maker lists the certificate.
• Shipped from the USA. Free shipping to the 48 contiguous states and Washington, D.C. Orders are prepared in 1 to 2 business days and delivered in 2 to 5, with tracking, and there are no customs or import fees to pay.
• Packed for a fragile object. Each clock travels in two boxes, with the pendulum and weights wrapped separately. If something arrives broken, send us photos within 48 hours and we replace it or refund you.
• Help after the sale. Setting up a mechanical clock for the first time can be puzzling. Email us a short video and a real person helps you get it ticking.
